Ported Blower Corvette Z06 vs. Whipple Mustang GT350 – Street Hits

March 8th, 2024

Alright, we are taking it back to the streets (of Mexico) tonight. Our man Frank has hooked into a grudge match between a Mustang GT350 and Corvette Z06. In typical street fashion, both cars have been modified to enhance performance.

The Corvette C7 Z06 was originally sold with a supercharged 6.2-liter engine that could produce 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque at peak RPM. In factory condition, the C7 Z06 could turn the standing quarter-mile in 10.95-seconds @ 127 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.95-seconds. The Corvette seen in this video has been modified with a ported blower (aftermarket lid), a high-performance camshaft, exhaust headers, bolt-ons and an E85 tune.

In the opposite lane is the Ford Mustang GT350. As the little brother to the Mustang GT500, the GT350 came from the factory with a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V8 motor capable of making 526hp and 429 lb.-ft. of torque. The stock Mustang GT350 could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1-seconds and run the quarter-mile sprint in 12.9-seconds @ 117.6 mph. Featured in this clip is a GT350 that has been upgraded with a Whipple 3.0-liter supercharger. The engine and transmission are stock.

Giddy-up! This is going to be a good race.
