200 MPH on the Street

May 16th, 2017

If I were pressed to describe the footage documented in this video, I would simply call it elite level street racing (on the streets of Mexico). It must be considered so due to the extreme speeds achieved and the degree of modification and power capacity of the vehicles involved. The Lamborghini Superleggera featured is, after all, equipped with an Underground Racing (UR) Stage 3 Kit. As if that would not suffice, it also has been upgraded with a set of ported and polished race ready cylinder heads. This very bad girl is capable of producing more than 1,300hp to the Read More

Half-Mile Blowout – Lamborghini vs. Nissan

March 31st, 2017

Hello racing fans and welcome to the Rafael Hernandez Airport in sunny Puerto Rico. Today’s action is of the 1/2-mile variety and it is particularly outstanding. Some of the baddest cars and most capable performance firms are on hand to try and claim the top speed crown. Underground Racing (UR) is well represented by the star of the event – a black Lamborghini Superleggera, owned by Richard Fowler. As you know, the Superleggera is pretty potent in factory trim but Richard’s Lambo has been treated to the UR X-Package that bumps output up to the 2,000hp mark. Richard has already Read More

TX2K17 – GT-R Elite Ready to Roll

March 17th, 2017

With TX2K17 all set to begin, the racing world stands in anticipation to see if 2017 is the year of a true 6-second street car. Firms like AMS, ETS, and T1 Race Development are all fan favorites and all are capable of achieving the coveted 6-second ET with their cutting edge Nissan GT-R monsters. Nevertheless, there are hundreds of other competitors who have been working just as hard with their Lamborghinis, Porsches, Chevrolets, and Dodges. Anyone has a chance to be King of the Streets and it ain’t over until it’s over. Were it left up to me, I would Read More

Track Testing the New Lamborghini Aventador S

February 4th, 2017

In an effort to keep pace in the ever evolving world of supercars, Lamborghini has introduced the all new Lamborghini Aventador S. Recent offerings from Ferrari and McLaren have made it necessary for Lamborghini to up the ante in the Aventador lineup. That brings us to the “S” version. In addition to an exterior face lift, the Aventador S also benefits from a more powerful engine, improved steering, and a universal controller that overlaps all of the car’s major components together for a much smoother and more refined driving experience. The test-driver refers to the new version S as a Read More

GT-R Tackles Huracan on the Street

December 20th, 2016

What would you do for fun if you lived in a place where the roads were flat and straight – as far as the eye could see? Sounds like a street racer’s paradise to me. Why not buy a couple of the most elite factory supercars on the planet and line them up for some dig racing action? That’s what I want for Christmas, Santa! Featured in this video are the Nissan GT-R and the Lamborghini Huracan. The Nissan is configured with front-engine and all-wheel drive, while the Lamborghini rocks a mid-engine setup that can be had with standard rear-wheel Read More

71-Year Old Takes Title at Texas Invitational

October 26th, 2016

They say that racing is a young man’s game and I must say that it has proven true over time. Nevertheless, “they” have never met King of the Streets veteran, 71-year old Bob Helms. You see, the thing is that nobody ever told Bob that he needed to move over for a younger butt to occupy the seat of his Underground Racing (UR) built Lamborghini and (I gotta’ believe) that if “they” did, Bob would tell them where to go. Bob has been racing King of the Streets events since 2011, without a win, so I absolutely love the fact Read More

Here’s another one of these great video installments for Motor Trend’s 2016 Best Driver’s Award. These guys use a ton of GoPro swag and produce some of the most extraordinary camera angles you’ve ever seen. Randy Pobst is back behind the wheel and once again, the track is the iconic Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway. Randy is as qualified as anyone to critique high performance automobiles and Laguna Seca is designed with a unique set of hair pins, corkscrews, and gut-wrenching elevation changes. Check out the hot lap action. It is truly breathtaking! This is an incredible car. The 2017 Audi Read More

Tesla Model S P100D 1/4 Mile Testing at Palm Beach International Raceway vs a Huracan and Nissan GT-R

September 24th, 2016

While we got rained out last week and weather wasn’t looking good for this week either, we headed out to Palm Beach International Raceway to give the all new Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous it’s first real world test down the 1/4 mile drag strip. Luckily the weather held and we got some awesome races in. To make things interesting we lined up the Tesla vs a Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 and based on previous runs with the Huracan and some Racelogic VBOX tests with the P100D, we knew it was going to be a close race.  Behind the wheel of the Read More

New Half-Mile World Record

September 23rd, 2016

Underground Racing (UR) has scored again with their earth shaking X-Package. UR has taken the lead in developing turbocharged performance machines and, if this past weekend’s festivities are any indication, they aren’t planning on relinquishing their position any time soon. The backdrop is a closed airstrip during the ShiftS3ctor event in McMinnville, Oregon. All of the top players are on hand for this event, as you might expect, and world records are being broken all weekend. At the end of the event, Richard Fowler owned the new World Record in the 1/2-mile at 247.25 mph – that’s 7 mph faster Read More
