Rambunctious Restomod – 7.0-liter 1965 Mustang Fastback

March 19th, 2025

Greetings gearheads, speed freaks and auto enthusiasts of every ilk. Allow me to introduce Robert and his labor of love. You see, Robert took over this 1965 Ford Mustang project after his beloved brother-in-law passed away. His goal was to complete the build and return the finished product to his sister in remembrance of her fallen husband. He grabbed the Mustang (in many pieces) and took it coast-to-coast from California to McQueens Hot Rod Shop in South Carolina. Robert rolled up his sleeves and helped his friends at McQueens to assemble the restomod you see here. Now, he has returned Read More

Mopar Mayhem – Hellephant HEMI Powered Barracuda Restomod

February 12th, 2025

This car has the best of both worlds. It combines the nostalgia and charm of an original muscle car with the reliability and performance of a modern powertrain. The final result is nothing less than sublime. Although car owner Marshall owes most of the credit for this build to Salvaggio Auto Design, he started with a couple of talented designers; Gary Ragle on the exterior and Sean Smith on the interior. The car is a two-owner 1971 Plymouth Barracuda with most of the original sheet metal intact. Subtle enhancements include flush mounted glass and those amazing carbon fiber grille/headlight inserts. Hollywood Horsepower – Kevin Hart’s Blown 1966 Chevelle SS Restomod

February 5th, 2025

Although funny man Kevin Hart is one of America’s most popular stand-up comedians (not to mention a superstar of the big screen), he often remarks about his small stature. When Kevin climbs behind the wheel of Darkness (his 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS), he’s ten feet tall. Built by Timeless Kustoms, Darkness is a street monster. Under the hood is a supercharged 7.4-liter Chevy LSX V8. The massive mill is lubricated with a wet sump system and topped with an LS9 2.3-liter supercharger (currently running 7-pounds of boost). Blown Big Block 1969 Camaro Z28 – Rowdy Restomod

January 13th, 2025

We are headed out west to meet Nelson Claborn and take a ride in his bodacious 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. Having owned this vintage muscle car since he was 14-years old (he’s 48 now), Nelson had plenty of time to get this build right. From beater to bruiser, this Camaro clicks all the gears. Totally built in Nelson’s garage, this Camaro is powered by a bored (.030 over) big block Chevy 7.4-liter V8. That opens the big motor up to 489 cubic inches. In the bottom, we have a Callie’s crankshaft and a set of Callie’s rods. Up top, we Read More

1967 Chevrolet Camaro Restomod – LT5 Swapped Asphalt Eater

December 6th, 2024

The old saying goes, “It ain’t how you look, it’s what you got under the hood.” This saying particularly applies to gearheads who don’t have time for paint and body work. They just want their ride to go fast. This 1967 Camaro, owned by Jacob Hopper, is one such vehicle. Under the hood is an engine that many believe to be the king of the Chevy powerplants. The 7.0-liter all-aluminum (block and heads) LT5 is a supercharged gem that could churn out 755hp and 715 lb.-ft. of torque in factory condition. You might have seen one in a 2019 version Read More

In stock trim, the SVT made 390hp and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. Not that great by today’s standards, but a pretty good jumping off point. Tony took the 4.6-liter V8 engine and had it professionally built, replacing the stock iron block with a Texas Speed aluminum block before loading Read More
