January 30th, 2021

Most likely, you don’t wake up in the morning saying, “I wonder if I’ll see a race between a Mustang and a Mercedes-Benz today.” If you do, then today is your lucky day. This video treats us to a series of street hits between a bone stock Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and a 2017 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG (with a Stage 1 tune). Let’s head down to Mexico and get out on the highway.

Powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V8 engine (code name Voodoo) with a flat plane crankshaft, the Shelby GT350 can churn out a cool 526hp and 419 lb.-ft. of torque. At a curb weight of 3,703-pounds, the Mustang GT350 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 12.3-seconds @ 107 mph.

Handcrafted at the historic AMG assembly plant in Affalterbach, Germany, the C63 AMG is propelled by a twin turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine capable of producing 503hp and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. The C63 AMG Sedan can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.0-seconds with a top speed of 205 mph. It tips the scale at 3,816-pounds and rips through the quarter-mile in 11.18-seconds @ 124 mph. Of course, this particular C63 AMG has been tuned to increase performance.

Both these cars are rear-wheel drive. Multiple street hits include a 40 mph start, a 30 mph start, and a 65 mph start. These are competitive contests. Check it out.
