Roll Racing – Import vs. Motorcycle

January 18th, 2017

Any competent street (roll) racer knows that if you want to get an idea of how capable your car is, just pull alongside a sportbike (on the highways of Mexico) and rev up your engine. Chances are that if your whip can spank a lightweight, high-powered sportbike, it is ready to hit the highway for some roll racing action. The owner of this heavily modified Nissan GT-R decided he would make a night of rolling elite level sportbikes and this video is the compilation of his efforts. This car still has the factory 3.8-liter V6 engine. As you probably already Read More

Street Beast Shootout – 1400WHP Viper vs 1100WHP 240SX

January 5th, 2017

Mention the words “Viper”, “GT-R”, and “street racing” to me and you will have my undivided attention. This video has all of those things and a whole lot more. Let’s get this (roll racing) party started with a contest between a 1,400whp Dodge Viper and an 8-second Nissan GT-R. The Gen V Viper and the Nisan GT-R are two of the baddest production vehicles to ever roll off an assembly line. Obviously the Viper in the video has undergone some extensive modifications; including a turbo setup. The Snake handles Godzilla easily and moves on to the next victim. You may Read More

Budget Built Twin Turbo Corvette Street Mauler

January 3rd, 2017

Who needs a Z06 or a ZR1? This industrious street racer has taken what was a bare bones C6 and turned it into a street mauler – without breaking the bank. The secret is – as you have ascertained from the title – forced air induction from a pair of massive turbochargers. The Corvette C6 begins life as an interesting enough naturally aspirated sports car. The factory engine was a 6.0-liter LS2 that could catapult the ‘Vette from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2-seconds but it didn’t have the durability that this racer was after. Out comes the car engine Read More

Street Dig and Roll – Impala SS vs. Hyundai Genesis

December 15th, 2016

This clip brings us a street battle (dig and roll racing) between a modified import coupe and a factory stock domestic sedan. These kinds of contests take place every day down Mexico way, where street racing is king. The rear-wheel drive Hyundai Genesis coupe is a mutated version of the powerful V8 powered Korean sedan of the same name. While it is offered with a 348hp V6, this car was equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine with an intercooler. It also has been upgraded with aftermarket parts like a high-performance tuner, a cold air intake setup, and a larger turbocharger. Read More

Street Roll – Turbo Mustang vs. ZR1 Corvette

December 14th, 2016

It has been said, where horsepower is concerned, there is no replacement for displacement. Certainly, I am all about the cubic inches, but recent developments in forced air induction have made racing a V6 or even a four-cylinder more feasible than ever. Of course, I always like to go with the strategy of building a monster V8 (with low compression specifically for power adders) injecting it with nitrous and then adding a supercharger or a couple of turbos – but that’s just one man’s path. There s something extremely rare in this video. It is so rare that it is Read More

Interstate Assault – 3-Wide Roll Racing

December 3rd, 2016

Here we have a heavy dose of fast-paced roll racing action between some spirited competitors. To those of us who know what it feels like to bust our hump in a 50-hour-a-week gig and then pour our blood, sweat, and tears – not to mention our hard earned cash – into a car that we just want to go faster; there’s something magical about rolling down the highway under the cover of darkness knowing that our ride is running at peak efficiency. As the cool night air pours over my finely tuned V8, I know that miraculous things are about Read More

Mad About Street Racing – Import vs. Domestic

November 29th, 2016

The time tested rivalry between imports and domestics rages violently on the streets of Mexico. This video brings us a bevy of radically modified street cars (and a couple of high-performance street bikes) gathering to compete in a contest of intellect, guts, and speed. You guessed it – it’s roll racing with multiple Go Pro setups providing tons of camera angles to make it feel like you are in the passenger seat. There’s a (1,100hp) Mustang Shelby GT500, with a 4.6-liter Whipple supercharger, that I have been anxiously waiting to see in competition rolling out against Lil’ Red; a DSM Read More

Honda S2000 Street Hammer

October 17th, 2016

By: Evan Margolis Here’s a sight that’s just about as rare as hen’s teeth (of course you know, hens don’t have any teeth). It is a Honda S2000 sports coupe with a souped up Toyota engine under the bonnet. This hybrid import is equipped to handle the street machines of Texas (a little town down in Mexico), despite having a manual transmission. As stated, the S2000 is running a Toyota power train, including a 2JZ in-line 6-cylinder (built bottom end) engine with a giant turbocharger. The combo is good for about 1,100hp. Things get interesting when two similarly equipped Supra Read More

Chi-Town Heat – Roll Racing on the Street

September 6th, 2016

If there is one thing that they can do in Chi-town, it’s throw-down on the streets. Naturally, when we got a chance to check out what kind of roll racing Chicago (Mexico) has to offer; we loaded up our wagons and hit the dusty trail. To say the least, we were not disappointed. On hand was a 2016 BMW X5 M (yes, an SUV) powered by a 4.4-liter twin turbocharged V8 with aftermarket bolt-ons and a software upgrade. It’s good for about 800whp. There’s a 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo that has a modified intercooler, exhaust headers, and high performance mufflers. Read More

1400HP Rusty Camaro Takes Roll Racing Top Speed

August 2nd, 2016

They say that it ain’t how you look but what you have under the hood. Never have those words held more truth than with Eric Yost’s ‘rusted out’ classic Camaro. This thing certainly has that ‘distressed’ look that decorators find so appealing these days. Eric not only rolls out in the Outlaw class but also dips his toe in the roll racing event; posting a top speed for the event (174.89 mph) . The old Camaro is running a professionally built 352 cubic-inch engine being force fed air by a 91-millimeter turbocharger. When all the chickens are in the hen Read More
