Big Turbo Honda S2000 vs. Ford Mustang GT500 – 60 to 160 Street Hits

June 12th, 2024

Oh, it’s go-time on the streets of Mexico! A pair of purpose-built roll racing machines are set to throwdown on the big road in a contest all out acceleration and speed. Hold on to your hat, friends. It’s about to get breezy in here.

In lane one is the 2002 Honda S2000 convertible. This thing only weighs 2,800-pounds, and man has he got power. Under the hood is a professionally built 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Honda mill with a massive Precision 6466 turbocharger. He’s running a Haltech controller tuned to burn e85 fuel. With all the aftermarket bolt-ons, the S2000 is claiming more than 700hp to the rear wheels. The transmission is a 6-speed manual. Nevertheless, that’s a ton of power for a lightweight package.

Speaking of power; the 2021 Ford Mustang GT500 is a beast. With a supercharged 5.2-liter engine, this is the most powerful Mustang ever produced. The GT500 featured in this video has been upgraded with an aftermarket supercharger pulley to increase boost. He’s also running bigger fuel injectors, a cat delete exhaust system and an e85 tune. This gearhead’s dream muscle car is capable of making more than 800whp, but it weighs approximately 4,200-pounds.

This should be a close race.
