Violent All-Wheel Drive Street Launches

November 5th, 2019

One thing that all these race cars have in common is that they get the heck outta’ Dodge in one quick hurry. Despite being equipped with “all paw crawl”, these radically modified monsters are bucking, flexing, twisting and spinning as they cut loose in an effort to exhibit maximum power output in minimum time and distance. Hold on to your hats for this one. The action begins with a “shoebox” Audi 200 Turbo laying it all on the line in a brutal launch. This car looks to be in the ultimate sleeper category. This 1995 Volkswagen Golf GTi gives terms like “sequentially-shifted” and “all-wheel drive” new meaning. You see, this wild-looking VW manufactures 1,500hp with a pair of VR6 turbocharged engines (mated with a pair of sequentially-shifted manual transmissions) – one on each end! First, the engines. They are matching VR6 mills built with powder-forged connecting rods and JE pistons. Up top are Techtonics (solid lift) camshafts. Intake and exhaust manifolds are full custom with a pair of Garrett 67-millimeter turbochargers (air-to-water intercoolers) furnishing the air. The gearboxes are both from KAPS Sequential. Each engine makes approximately 750hp. The car is owned, built Read More

Lamborghini Aventador S VS. Tesla Model SP100D

June 25th, 2019

Who would ever think that a total electric sedan would be held in contention with a legendary Italian sports car when it comes to running the quarter-mile? Well, Tesla changed our way of thinking. First, it was the Tesla Roadster. Now the SP100D is the all-electric bad boy. With the equivalent of 680hp and a shocking (pun intended) 900 lb.-ft. of torque, the Tesla sedan is virtually unrivaled at cutting a light and coming out of the hole. Its power is transferred immediately and its all-wheel drive capabilities make traction consistent and secure. After that, another weakness is not exhibited Read More
