2018 Model Street Throwdown – Modified Audi RS3 vs. Whipple Mustang GT

December 7th, 2023

Someone is headed for a straight-up street thumping tonight, as a pair of menacing 2018 models rip up the asphalt in roll racing action. One modified import and one modified domestic are tuned up and ready to claim their share of the glory in this 1,000hp battle. Batten down the hatches and prepare to burn rubber.

The 2018 Audi RS3 is an all-wheel drive sedan with a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. In stock trim, the RS3 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5-seconds. Featured in this video is an RS3 modified with a built engine, a giant turbo and all the aftermarket components to make it work like a Swiss watch. Tonight, he’s detuned to 1,000hp for the sake of fair play.

Then there’s the 2018 Mustang GT. With its naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine, the rear-wheel drive Mustang GT can produce 460hp and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a sluggish 3.9-seconds. How do you fix that? With a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger and all the complimentary fixings to make massive horsepower. This car is now putting down more than 1,000hp to the rear wheels.

Shall we get these 2018s on the interstate and let them breathe? Oh, yeah!
