Midnight Madness – Twin Turbo Mustang GT vs. Porsche 911 for $4K

November 1st, 2022

Oh, heck yeah! It’s about to be on like hotcakes in the streets of Mexico this evening. Round Man Frank is lining them up again for this big money grudge match between a twin turbocharged Ford Mustang GT and a modified (upgraded turbos) Porsche 911 GTS (991.2) that’s claiming 900hp. Now, it’s time to prove it.

The rear engine powered Porsche is equipped with a twin turbocharged 3.0-liter box 6-cylinder engine that can churn out 444hp from the factory. Engine and cylinder heads are all-aluminum, and it is direct fuel injected. The Porsche is rear-wheel drive and utilizes a 7-speed PDK transmission. In stock trim, the 911 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 9.91-seconds @ 141.59 mph. This car has been modified with unknown turbocharger upgrades.

Not nearly as posh as the German sports car, the Ford Mustang GT is a conventional front engine/rear-wheel drive coupe. As it rolled off the assembly line, the Mustang GT had a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine and automatic transmission. In factory condition, the Mustang GT is capable of generating 460hp. It can scamper from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3-seconds. This pony could run through the quarter-mile in 12.5-seconds @ 114.5 mph. This car is running a twin turbo/intercooler package from Midnight Performance. She’s angry.

The format is as follows: Two races for $1000 each. The first race will be from 50 mph to 150 mph and the second will be from 60 mph to 150 mph. Buckle-up!
