Twin Turbo V8 Powered Honda Civic

October 29th, 2015

After four-years Jeff Lutz Jr. finally got to campaign his CRAZY 1989 Honda Civic during Drag Week 2015. This highly modified import has garnered some degree of internet fame during the last few years. Weighing only 2,300-pounds, this car can already sprint through the 1320 in the 7-second range and we expect some really special things once Jeff gets the boost tuned in. No more v-tec for this Civic. A tube chassis supports a massive 434-cubic-inch-diameter V8 Vinson Race engine with a pair of Precision 76-millimeter turbos (good for 1,000hp!). Jeff and the crew fought some headaches during Drag Week Read More

Street Racing – New Mexico Style

October 23rd, 2015

This video is over 6-minutes of heads-up dig (and roll) racing on the streets of New Mexico. All the likely suspects are present and the action is “muy caliente”. Here are some of the highlights from racing into the New Mexico night. A 740hp 2004 Subaru WRX STi with a Precision 6466 turbocharger destroys a 600hp WRX STi. The Terminator Mustang Cobra takes apart a 700hp all-wheel drive Honda Civic, a 400hp Dodge Neon, and gives a 750hp Mitsubishi Evo a good run for his money. A 600hp twin turbocharged Infiniti G35 goes against a 630hp Cadillac CTS-V and a Read More

180 MPH Street Race – GT-R vs CBR1000

October 22nd, 2015

In a contest of speed between a motorcycle and a car, my first instinct is to say that the bike will win. This logic typically proves sound, particularly when the bike is a stretched Honda CBR1000RR. The Honda is capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5-seconds and can reach 100 mph in only 6.5-seconds, so what kind of car could touch it in a street race? Let’s take a look. A car that is nick-named after a creature known to terrorize and destroy large cities must certainly be able to hold its own on the streets. Read More

Viper TA Takes On 1000HP Nissan GT-R

September 17th, 2015

The DriverMod Viper TA is unleashed! That’s right – it is not chained to a dyno this time – it’s taking it to the streets against another radically modified beast of an automobile. Aptly named “Godzilla”, the Nissan GT-R is one of the most feared machines on the street. As a bonus, they are running against a stock Honda CBR1000 motorcycle. As seen a few days ago on DragTimes, the Viper TA engine is stock with an intake manifold upgrade, exhaust headers, and a 250 shot of Nitrous Outlet giggling gas. It is riding on CCW C12 racing wheels and Read More

700HP IMW Honda Civic Battles Supercars

September 15th, 2015

Check out this footage of the Innovative Motor Works Honda Civic going toe-to-toe with some exotic supercars. The business of the day is done as 65 mph roll racing. First, the “little import that could” lines up against a mighty 700hp Mustang Shelby GT500 and whips him handily. Next up is a turbocharged Toyota Supra, which is also narrowly dispatched. The Civic isn’t able to get a handle on the awesome sounding supercharged 775hp Corvette and gets beaten by a nose. Finally, an odd contest with a lame Huracan and a bad Bavarian wins easily. The Civic is outfitted with Read More

Taking it to the Streets – Turbocharged Spool Bus

September 8th, 2015

Is it the Spool Bus or short bus? This thing has a school bus safety stop sign hanging from the driver’s door – to each his own, as “they” say. They also say, “It ain’t how you look, it’s what you got under the hood.” Under the hood of this brightly colored S10 Blazer is a fully built 5.7-liter LT1 (bored .030 over to 355-cubic-inches), high-performance cylinder heads, camshaft, and intake manifold, exhaust headers, and a massive 80mm turbocharger. It’s all bolted to a 4L80E transmission (from 3/4-ton truck). The SUV is estimated at 700hp. This mean fire-breathing machine Read More

Colorado Cash Days – Insane Street Racing

August 12th, 2015

Fourteen of the baddest street machines in the West have gathered at an undisclosed location in the Colorado night. Each of these teams has plans to take someone else’s cash, eat their cookies, and claim bragging rights as king of the Colorado streets. All-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, and rear-wheel drive – old cars, new cars, and even trucks will do battle to see who can claim the number-one spot in the 2015 edition of Colorado Cash Days. The highlights of this feature video include a 800hp 1969 Camaro, a beautiful red Chevy Nova with a 400-cubic-inch engine and an 80mm Read More

700HP AWD Civic Taking It to the Streets

July 22nd, 2015

Check out this clip! If you really want to get the jump on the competition, try switching to all-wheel drive. This innovative cat salvaged the traction-happy components from an earlier model Honda vehicle, and then did whatever was necessary to deliver 700hp and 583-lb.-ft. of torque to the four corners. He certainly gets out of the “roll” quicker than the 1,000hp Mustang Fox but can’t hold the Ford off at the midway point. Here is a bit of the Civic setup: Begin with a stock block 1.6-liter Honda V-TEC engine with forged rods and internals, add a Precision 6262 Turbocharger Read More

700HP Honda Prelude Runs Rampant on the Streets of Texas

May 21st, 2015

Take one look at this Honda, with its extra-large front drive tire and deep throaty rumble, and you realize that this is not your little sister’s Prelude. Dubbed the “V8 Killer”, this four-cylinder powered import is living up to its moniker. The owner/operator lists a 427 equipped Corvette with nitrous as his most memorable V8 conquest. This clip from the BOOSTED NIGHTS – Texas Streets DVD (from 1320 videos) shows the souped-up Prelude,  with a H22 2.0-liter engine and Precision 6266 turbocharger, taking on a 700HP 2JZ Honda S2000, a 730HP Pontiac Trans Am, and a 850HP Corvette SC. Honda Powered Lotus Runs Sub-10-Second 1/4-Mile

May 15th, 2015

Watch as the crew from King’s Performance, of Orlando, Florida, campaign their unique creation during the 2015 Streetcar Takeover Event. It is a Lotus Elise with a turbocharged Honda engine under the bonnet. The video shows the Lotus posting a 9.55-second pass @ 156.25 mph. King’s Performance opted out of the stock Lotus running gear and replaced it with a mid-mounted four-cylinder Honda K20A1 engine being force fed by a Precision 6266 turbocharger. This combination is responsible for producing approximately 750-horsepower (the car and driver only weigh 2,200-pounds). A Quaife sequential gearbox handles the shifting duties. The Lotus boasts a Read More
