Chi-Town Heat – Roll Racing on the Street

September 6th, 2016

If there is one thing that they can do in Chi-town, it’s throw-down on the streets. Naturally, when we got a chance to check out what kind of roll racing Chicago (Mexico) has to offer; we loaded up our wagons and hit the dusty trail. To say the least, we were not disappointed. On hand was a 2016 BMW X5 M (yes, an SUV) powered by a 4.4-liter twin turbocharged V8 with aftermarket bolt-ons and a software upgrade. It’s good for about 800whp. There’s a 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo that has a modified intercooler, exhaust headers, and high performance mufflers. Read More

East Coast Street Racing – Twelve Cars Race for $1200

August 16th, 2016

That’s right baby! This is an East Coast (of Mexico – of course) style, single elimination tournament with twelve drivers contributing $100 each – and the final round winner is driving away with all the cash. While $1200 may not seem like a bunch of money to you; there are some people (myself included) that consider that a pretty good night’s fun (it ain’t work). One of the best things about having a cash-pool is that the competitors have to exit their vehicles and come together for a brief period. This usually results in a lot of trash talking and Read More

Single Elimination Street Racing

June 27th, 2016

Take a gander at some old school, single elimination-style street racing, on a deserted 2-lane country road (the bales of hay were my only clue). The preliminary round features a Corvette and a first-generation Mustang. The potent Ford gets the hole-shot but can’t seem to get hooked up on the gear changes. The ‘Vette claims the victory and moves on. Next, we have a Cadillac CTS-V vs. a GenV Mustang. The Caddy pulls the Ford throughout and takes a first round win. Now, we’re on to a contest between a nitrous C6 Corvette and a nitrous Fox body Mustang – Read More

Street Racing – Mustang vs. CTS-V vs. Z06 Vette

June 16th, 2016

This is some top-tier street racing action between three domestic power houses. The Mustang has an awesome looking USMC paint scheme, an Aluminator Ford Racing engine, and a 76-millimeter CPR turbo kit. Hoo-Rah! This Ford is making 740whp on 93-octane fuel. The supercharged Caddy is making 630whp with a camshaft upgrade, a cold air intake, a crank pulley upgrade, and a methanol injection. Finally, we have the naturally-aspirated Chevrolet Corvette Z06 producing 600whp, the old fashioned way. The ‘Vette is also the camera car. Check it out – this is classic roll racing between three mean mothers. NOTE: We neither Read More

Corvette Z06 vs. Cadillac CTS-V

May 27th, 2016

This is street (roll) racing between a modified ‘Vette and a souped-up Cadillac. Times were, when you get your sports car modified to your liking and hit the streets for some roll racing action, the last thing that you would expect is for a sedan to give you a run for your money. Well, time passes and things change; today’s high-powered sedans are pretty potent from the factory and they are easily modified. Despite the fact that this race is between a top-tier sports coupe and a luxury sedan, it is one of the closest street contests that I have Read More

Import vs. Domestic – Street Digs and Roll Racing

May 19th, 2016

This is one hot night of down South jukin’ – Mexico style. This video features four heavy-hitters. I’m talking about skillfully modified vehicles and accomplished drivers. You will definitely want to check out this heads-up street racing action for yourself. First, we have a DSM superstar. It’s a 1993 Eagle Talon with a stock 2.0-liter DOHC engine, a 64-millimeter turbocharger, an AEM controller, and 85 lb/hr fuel injectors. He’s pushing out around 650hp and (as you can see) he ain’t no joke. Next, we have a Subaru WRX STi making 700hp with a built and turbocharged engine tuned to 40 Read More

Arizona Street Racing

March 15th, 2016

This is 1/4-mile street racing Arizona style – fast paced, organized, and competitive. This contest is of the ‘run-what-you-brung’ single elimination variety with no classifications. Who ever shows up with the best setup and manages to get down the track ahead of the competition until the final round wins the money. Easy peazy lemon squeazy? Not in this field; check it out. In the first round you have a 2.3-liter supercharged Mustang eating up a Nissan GT-R with bolt-on modifications. Next there is a small block powered Chevrolet Monza with nitrous that surprisingly smokes a Corvette ZR-1 and a Fox Read More

Godzilla Takes Two Classes at Dallas Street Car Takeover

February 24th, 2016

Godzilla showed up at the Dallas Street Car Takeover and wreaked havoc in two-classes of racing action. While it wasn’t the giant mechanical monster that wrecked Tokyo, the results were no less catastrophic. Godzilla was manifest in the form of the familiar 1200hp T1 Nissan GT-R. By the time smoke cleared Lamborghinis, Supras, Cadillacs, Mustangs, and all other challengers were strewn about like so much rubbish (not really but you get the jest). With its all-wheel drivetrain, the GT-R demonstrated superior traction in winning the King of the Bakery (roll racing) crown and the 9.50 ET class. The team at Read More

Sunset Street Racing South of the Border

January 29th, 2016

This clip has some great heads-up roll racing from the streets of “Old Mexico” – coming at you in all its glory. The cars are primed and the drivers are revved-up for action, so you know it’s going to be an interesting night. The Cadillac CTS-Vs are out in force but our first matchup is between a 5.0-liter Ford Mustang and a 6.4-liter HEMI Chrysler 300 SRT. These two break even as far as I can tell; then the Chrysler rolls out against a CTS-V (6.2-liter supercharged). The Caddy jumps on him and walks the dog all the way to Read More
