This skilled videographer has managed to capture some very competitive head-to-head roll racing on a closed airstrip. There are representations from many of the big exotic manufacturers – Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and McLaren. The domestic bad boys showed up, too. There are Dodge Vipers and Challengers, Chevrolet Camaros and Corvettes, Cadillac CTS-Vs, and a scarce few Ford Mustangs. The imports include some Nissan GT-Rs and Toyota Supras (it’s alright to assume they are turbocharged). There is even an old ice cream truck and a 700+hp Volkswagen Golf. These lucky competitors line up at one end of the airstrip and start Read More
Nearly every red-blooded American male loves a good catfight; a little slap and tickle or a late night pillow fight between two beautiful women. This clip shows something even better than that. Here is some girl on girl action (blonde vs. brunette, no less) with the added attraction of some awesome automobiles travelling at high speeds. In the left lane we have Jessica (the blonde) in her stock C7 Z06 Corvette (supercharged 6.2-liter V8). This is her first time. Her first pass down the drag strip – you rascals – but she is confident in her Chevy. In the right lane Read More
We’ve got some great video footage of a modified 2010 Cadillac CTS-V running heads up against a bone stock 2012 Nissan GT-R. The CTS-V which normally comes with 556 horsepower has been modified with a modified supercharger pulley to up the boost pressure, headers, full exhaust along with some cooling and tuning upgrades. We estimate the CTS-V picked up around 80-100 HP with the modifications. It’s a close race with the stock 2012 530HP GT-R edging out the CTS-V by just a bit with the CTS-V running 11.38 @ 122.71 MPH vs the GT-R running 11.19 @ 124.26 MPH.
Take a look at this wicked Cadillac CTS-V running a 9.85 @ 139.7 MPH at Palm Beach International Raceway. Running a healthy 200 progressive shot of nitrous on a motor with forged internals and stock supercharger this CTS-V was able to pull a decent 1.54 60′ time on a set of drag radials. Other modifications include kooks headers, different supercharger pulleys along with a LS3 throttle body and a LPE cold air induction kit. Running through a stock transmission and torque converter, this CTS-V put down 865 horsepower and 850 ft-lbs of torque at the rear wheels. With a conservative Read More
The current generation Cadillac CTS-V with it’s Corvette ZR1 derived LSA motor pumping out 556HP was highly anticipated to be the baddest/fastest/quickest current 4 door sedan available. While it’s certainly powerful, the track numbers have always been kind of disappointing in stock form running low to mid 12’s in the 1/4 mile, something the Mercedes AMG sedans have been doing for years. Of course knowing what it’s motor is capable of, pumping out 638HP in the ZR1, and even more when modified, the CTS-V was set for a nice rush of aftermarket performance support. The Vette Doctors took a 2009 Read More
The new 2009 Cadillac CTS-Vs are starting to arrive at dealers throughout the US and quite a few have already been delivered. The new Cadillac CTS-V is equipped with 6.2L supercharged V8 engine borrowed from the ZR1 putting out 556HP according to GM. One owner has already put his CTS-V on the dyno where it put down 438HP and 440 ft lbs of torque down to the rear wheels. It’s not clear if this was a manual or automatic transmission car, but if we go with a 16% driveline loss, we arrive at 522HP, a little shy of GM’s claims. Read More
