Audi RS3 (E60) vs. Ford Mustang GT (E85) – Street Hits

March 2nd, 2024

These two cars are as different as daylight and dark. On the one-hand, we have the import sedan with a turbocharged 5-cylinder powerplant. On the other hand, an unapologetically domestic coupe with a bodacious naturally aspirated V8 mill. When these two meet on the street – it’s going to be pandemonium!

A luxury performance sedan, the Audi RS3 features a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline 5-cylinder engine that can produce 401hp and 369 lb.-ft. of torque in factory condition. A stock RS3 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 11.8-seconds @ 117 mph. The RS3 seen in this video has been upgraded with high-performance exhaust and an E60 tune. She’s quicker than you think.

The Ford Mustang GT has been modified with a performance camshaft and some cylinder head porting. It is tuned to burn E85 fuel. It is worth noting that this Mustang is also running a manual transmission (the Audi utilizes a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic). With a 5.0-liter modular V8 working away under the hood, this Ford sounds mean.

As the two competitors line-up, the call rings out, “3 – 2 – 1”. The passenger’s arm drops, and unbridled acceleration commences. Surprisingly, the turbocharged Audi lurches ahead at the jump. In an instant, the pony car pulls alongside and it’s anyone’s race from here.
