Mad About Street Racing – Import vs. Domestic

November 29th, 2016

mad-about-street-racing-import-vs-domesticThe time tested rivalry between imports and domestics rages violently on the streets of Mexico. This video brings us a bevy of radically modified street cars (and a couple of high-performance street bikes) gathering to compete in a contest of intellect, guts, and speed. You guessed it – it’s roll racing with multiple Go Pro setups providing tons of camera angles to make it feel like you are in the passenger seat.

There’s a (1,100hp) Mustang Shelby GT500, with a 4.6-liter Whipple supercharger, that I have been anxiously waiting to see in competition rolling out against Lil’ Red; a DSM Evo IX (603 whp). Then we have a wild (PTE 76mm) turbo Supra in a three-way, with a 350hp (WOW!) Hayabusa GT35R Turbo, and a twin turbo Corvette on racing fuel.

Next, we have the backyard Honda S2000 (PTE 6466 turbo and built 20A engine) against a supercharged Corvette Z06 and a nitrous injected C6 Vette. Then the S2000 steps up and takes on a 1,100whp twin turbo Camaro ZL1. Finally, there is a couple of 900whp imports – a Toyota Supra with an automatic transmission and a Nissan GT-R with a 6-speed manual. The action is pretty even, with a slight advantage to the imports. Now, let’s line them up for some dig racing and see who comes out on top.
