1180WHP Shelby GT500 – Road Test and Dyno
November 17th, 2016Buckle up Mustang fans. This one is for you. You might say that this is some serious horsepower for a street car and I’d have to agree – Serious Autosport, that is. The South Florida based high performance parts supplier and car enthusiasts dream prepared this 2013 Ford to dominate the street or strip. It has the ponies to tackle the 1/4-mile and the suspension to handle the curves.
The car is running an NPR built, sleeved long block with 2-inch American racing headers and Borla exhaust. Forced air induction is handled using a giant 4.5-liter Whipple supercharger. It not only makes 1,180hp at the rear wheels but also manages to produce over 1,000 lb.-ft. of torque – all that without the 150-shot of nitrous that’s riding in the trunk. There is a Currie 9-inch rear differential and a RPM built Tremec 6060 gearbox putting all that power to a set of 20-inch Nitto drag radials in the rear.
This is a well produced video of an amazing car. Take a look.
