New GT-R World Record and Dyno

January 31st, 2018

This video documents the next evolution in the quest to get a Nissan GT-R through the quarter-mile in under 5-seconds. Extreme Turbo Systems (ETS) and Alpha Logic have been slugging it out in this  fight for years and this is just the latest blow.

Earlier this year Robert English and the ETS team struck a blow with a run of 6.88-seconds @ 222 mph. Despite the fact that they were ecstatic about the new record and it drew the attention of the drag racing world, everyone knew that it was only temporary. It’s kinda like a mouse grabbing a hunk of cheese and running – all the while knowing that a big, mean cat is right on its heels. In this case the mouse was the ETS GT-R and the cat was the Alpha Logic GT-R (of course the cheese was 1320-feet of blacktop).

Well, over the weekend, the cat again caught the mouse and the roles were again reversed. Alpha Logic brought out their new version of this suppercar and posted a quarter-mile pass of 6.85-seconds @ 212 mph. Chances are that it won’t be long until the other shoe drops but just let them live in their moment right now.

As an added bonus, there’s a some great footage of a dyno test on this amazing car. This innovative dynamometer seems to be unencumbered by the 2,000hp limitations of most as it effectively graphed more than 2,800hp and 1,667 lb.-ft. of torque @ 9,100 and 8,438 RPM (respectively).

Imagine what kind of number this car can put up in the mile or half-mile.
