New Half-Mile Top Speed World Record

March 25th, 2017

Greetings drag racing fans and speed enthusiasts of every ilk. Please join the DragTimes staff in celebrating a brand spanking new World Record Top Speed for the 1/2-mile!

It seems that our counterparts in Dubai have once again been busy with staying on the cutting edge in Nissan GT-R modification. While everyone in the U.S. has been busy with trying to break into the sixes in the 1/4-mile dig (and getting it done!), Alpha Logic (a Dubai based firm) decided to go ahead and bust the 1/2-mile world record with their Alpha K GT-R.

In all fairness, it wouldn’t be right not to tell you that this car has been (is) nipping at Gidi’s heels for the 1/4-mile GT-R crown (with a 7.04 ET) before posting a world record top speed of 248.32 mph (399.64 km/h) in the 1/2-mile. It’s racing season folks and the GT-R action is heating up on both sides of the pond.
