$3400 Street Race – Camaro ZL1 vs. ProCharged Camaro SS

January 19th, 2021

Greetings drag racing fans and speed freaks from every corner of the automotive realm. This video treats us to a highly contested evening of street racing on the mean streets of LA (Mexico). There is no love lost between these two racing camps. KOK Racing is widely known for their controversial pre-race shenanigans, but their dominance at the starting line cannot be denied. NTD is also known for fast cars and emotional outbursts. Can these two camps get the details worked out before a brawl erupts? Let’s see.

KOK Racing is bringing a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to the party. The ZL1 features a supercharged (Lingenfelter) 6.2-liter V8 that can make 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. In stock trim – which this car is likely not within – the Camaro ZL1 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 11.5-seconds @ 124 mph. Modifications to this car are unknown but it is safe to assume that it has been tuned and the exhaust has been modified (at minimum).

NTD brings a Chevrolet Camaro SS to bear. Though the SS version of the Camaro is not factory supercharged, it is equipped with a larger engine (all-aluminum 7.0-liter V8) and a more capable suspension system. This particular Camaro SS has been modified with a large ProCharger. It has been tuned (New Era Performance) and the exhaust system has been upgraded.

Neither car owner is willing to disclose a realistic maximum output estimation. Both cars are running drag slicks.

This is stacking up to be a wild one. Buckle up!
