1700HP Four-Eyed Fox Body – Double Duty on the Drag Strip

May 27th, 2020

Greeting drag racing fans and welcome to the Xtreme Raceway Park in Ferris, Texas. This well produced clip features the Four-Eyed (1980-1986) Ford Mustang of Mark Fields. Mark and his small crew are competing in multiple classes during this No Prep event. Mark is looking to make a good showing in either the Small Tire Class or the True Street Class.

This slick-looking little pony car has been upgraded with a Coyote (Ford) motor and a 94-millimeter turbo. Shifting duties are handled via a (GM) TH400 automatic transmission and the rear end is a Ford 8.8 inch. Mark figures the car is capable of producing between 1,600 and 1,800hp. One thing is for sure – it gets from point A to point B in one quick hurry!

In the first race of Small Tire, we are treated to a close race between Mark and a Gen IV Mustang. The old four-eye pulls of a narrow victory and moves on to round two.

Round One of True Street pairs Mark with a serious looking Chevy Malibu. The Malibu comes out of the hole quickly but falls behind the Fox Body and gets gaptized violently.

In the next round, we have Mark versus a fellow Fox Body owner. Mark gets the front wheels way up and the tires spin. That’s a recipe for disaster and it costs Mark the race. Oh well, better luck nest time. Great car and an impressive video.
