Late Model Chevrolet ZL1 Camaro vs. Modified Foxbody Mustang

May 1st, 2015

Zl1This Foxbody Mustang is certainly not stock. That is evident by the monstrous “lick” that it is hitting in the staging area. This little Mustang sounds awesome and I, for one, expected it to put away the late model Camaro (which appears to be stock).

Not so fast, friend! The Camaro is outfitted with the high-performance ZL1 package. It posts a 12.32-second pass at 115.44 mph, with stock rubber on the rear. The Foxbody driver comes out of the gate slowly and the Camaro eats him alive, despite having some traction issues at the start.

The ZL1 is equipped with a 580-horsepower blown 6.2-liter aluminum (block and heads) V8. Forced air is handled via an intercooled 1.9-liter Eaton supercharger.
