Classic Street Race Mustang GT500 vs. Corvette Z06

Classic Street Race Mustang GT500 vs. Corvette Z06It seems to me that we really don’t see nearly enough quick street (or track) Mustangs. The pavement is writhing with bodacious Corvettes of every era and every modified configuration, but when it comes to Ford counterparts, they are few and far between. So, when you finally get to see a classic battle of the little blue oval versus the big bad BOWTIE, it is quite a treat. This is just such a battle. Check out these two radically modified street cars as they lock horns down “south of the border.”

This is roll racing and both of these rides are equipped to roll (and how!). The BK34 Corvette is of the legendary Z06 ilk with upgraded cylinder heads, camshaft, various bolt-ons, and a driver mod. Maximum rear wheel horsepower is figured to be 580. The 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 features a 5.4-liter V8 topped with a 3.4-liter Whipple supercharger, long-tube exhaust headers, and a drag pack – estimated 750hp max.

NOTE: We neither condone nor encourage racing on public streets.
