Harley Davidson Road King Nitrous Drag Bike vs. 1500HP Audi R8

July 15th, 2021

This one is a bit of a swerve, but I love my Harley Davidson Baggers and most especially my Road King. So, here goes – this is going to be a series of drag and roll races between a couple of highly modified vehicles. One has two wheels and the other has four.

The Audi R8 V10 Plus is an all-wheel drive supercar that shares a platform with the Lamborghini Huracan. Same engine and transmission, same chassis, everything is identical except the sheet metal. The (stock) 2017 R8 is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine. The 3,800-pound R8 that you see in this video has been enhanced with (among other things) a twin turbocharger setup. It is currently making 1,500hp and has run an 8.56-second quarter-mile. It’s darn fast!

The Road King weighs in at a svelte 915-pounds and is running a George Bryce built 126 cubic-inch S&S motor with a 40hp shot of laughing gas (nitrous). The combo is capable of producing 240hp. That’s a lot for a Harley. This Road King has an extended swing arm and a funky air shifter to speed things up.

Without further ado, let’s head out to the track.
