Epic Mustang Battle – Godzilla Swap vs Modified Coyote Dyno and Dig

July 29th, 2021

This video features a showdown between a pair of drastically modified 2011 Ford Mustangs. Performance comparisons will include a dyno test and a drag race. Enough of the gum bumping, let these ponies run!

On the one hand, we have a gray Mustang that has been packed full of motor. It has been custom fitted with Ford Performance 7.3-liter V8 (codenamed Godzilla). This engine is designed and developed as a performance option for all Ford pickup trucks and it even comes as a factory option in certain F250 and F350 models. Hartwig Performance took the big truck motor and stuffed it between the strut towers of this 2011 Mustang.

On the other hand, we have a 5.0-liter Coyote engine that has been modified with a Boss 302 intake manifold, performance exhaust and tuning.

Both cars are daily drivers, and both are very well behaved at idle.

First on the dyno is the Coyote. It manages to irk out 393whp and 344 lb.-ft. of torque. Next up is Godzilla. As expected, this monster does a bit better. It

produces 396whp and 375 lb.-ft. of torque.

All things being equal – with the rear ends and the transmissions – Godzilla should rule this eight-mile contest. Watch and see if he does.
