Ultimate Porsche Turbo – 2020 991 Turbo S Ride Along

July 3rd, 2020

Amidst a sea of stunning sports cars, the latest Porsche 911 may be the best yet. The 2020 Porsche 911 Turbo S (internally designated 992) is a beast of a handcrafted German sports car that can rocket from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5-seconds. However, it isn’t only fast – with huge ceramic brakes, 20-inch wheels (front), 21-inch wheels (rear) and four-wheel steering, the latest version of the Turbo S can stop and handle with the best in the world.

The 992 Turbo S is powered by a twin-turbocharged (intercooled) 3.8-liter flat six-cylinder engine. The 992 not only has larger turbochargers than its predecessor, it has the intercoolers mounted directly above the motor (inside the bonnet). Maximum boost is advertised at 17.4 psi. Porsche says the 992 Turbo S is capable of producing 641hp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque. With optional sport exhaust, it is even more powerful than that. Drivetrain configuration is all-wheel, and the transmission is a PDK automatic. Top speed is 205 mph.

Harry’s Garage treats us to a thorough walk-around before taking it to the streets for a ride along. Harry drives the car in Normal and Sport modes throughout the English countryside before declaring it a “lovely” ride. The kid in the car seat near the end is hilarious. Enjoy.
