Supercar Shootout – Palm Beach Raceway – Dig and Roll

January 12th, 2018

Greetings racing fans and welcome to Palm Beach Raceway in sunny Jupiter, Florida.

While this gathering of exotic supercars could have well been conjured up on a gaming console, this is video evidence of an actual event that took place in the Sunshine State.

On hand were some of the most popular high-performance sports cars on the planet. They got together to see which of them was the baddest all-around supercar. Some were modified and others were stock but every driver came into this event with a desire to prove their machine was superior to the rest.

Up first are a pair of outstanding competitors; a Lamborghini Huracan and an R35 Nissan GT-R. The GT-R has been slightly modified with an intake manifold upgrade, an exhaust mid pipe, and a performance tune. The Nissan takes the holeshot in the quarter-mile dig race and the Lambo cannot catch up quickly enough. The GT-R takes the win.

In the 40 – 140 mph roll race, the Huracan jumps out front and holds the advantage throughout. The Italian wins by two car lengths.

Next up, the GT-R takes on a McLaren MP4-12C. Not surprisingly, the McLaren comes out of the hole behind but drives past the Nissan for the victory (by two-cars).

More of the same in the 40 – 140 mph roll races (multiple passes). The McLaren wins by two.

Finally, the McLaren yokes up with a Dodge Viper ACR (cylinder heads and camshaft upgrades with exhaust headers) that has been tuned by the master (Dick Winkle). This car seriously looks like something from Gran Turismo. You will want to see this one but – spoiler alert – the baddest car on the track today was built in Detroit.
