Street Beast Shootout – 1400WHP Viper vs 1100WHP 240SX

January 5th, 2017

Mention the words “Viper”, “GT-R”, and “street racing” to me and you will have my undivided attention. This video has all of those things and a whole lot more.

Let’s get this (roll racing) party started with a contest between a 1,400whp Dodge Viper and an 8-second Nissan GT-R. The Gen V Viper and the Nisan GT-R are two of the baddest production vehicles to ever roll off an assembly line. Obviously the Viper in the video has undergone some extensive modifications; including a turbo setup. The Snake handles Godzilla easily and moves on to the next victim.

You may need a little snow on the roof to recall these rear-wheel drive sports cars but enter the Datsun (as in weenie dog!) 280Z. This little red coupe is outfitted with a 2JZ Toyota mill (inline 6-cylinder) and a Precision 8685 turbocharger. The setup is good for over 1,250whp, so this may be a good race. Nope.

For the third race of the night, we have a 1998 Nissan 240SX with a Real Street built 2JZ and a Precision 7685 turbocharger. It has been dyno certified to 1,100whp and has posted a 1/4-mile ET of 7.9-seconds @ 175mph. I just love these rear-wheel drive import coupes for dropping in a big V8 but it seems like this one is making out pretty well with the 6-banger. This clip has tons of other action – you don’t want to miss it.
