Super Sleeper Impala SS

May 26th, 2017

This video is stacked with awesome looking high-performance automobiles. It documents a car show which took place at Performance HQ in San Antonio, Texas.

Performance HQ has a reputation of creating outlandish street and strip cars with optimum performance and reliability in mind. This clip captures what was taking place during their grand re-opening and the crew literally opens their doors to show us some inside information on project cars and customer builds.

With the showroom full of unique offerings, the parking lot began to fill up with all kinds of modified transportation. There were exotics, including names like Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche. There were domestics like the diesel trucks, as well as crowd favorite models like the Corvette, Camaro, and Mustang.

Two cars, in particular caught my eye:

A 2,000+hp Corvette ZR1 is among my favorites. It rolls out with a 7.0-liter Dart Racing engine and an all-boost setup. That’s right, the supercharger is gone and a Pro Mod 98-millimeter turbocharger now handles forced air induction duties. A nitrous injection provides the safety – just in case the turbo lag is a bit severe. This beast makes over 2,000hp!

I love street sleepers and the next car epitomizes a sleeper. It is a full-size (before the Impala went mid-size) Impala SS that looks factory on the outside, the inside, and even under the hood. It has a 383 cubic-inch stroker motor with a custom twin turbo (58-millimeter) setup. It makes 750whp while allowing four or five adults to cruise quietly and comfortably. Sweet ride guys – great job!
