Ice Cream Cruise – Twin Turbo BBC 1968 Camaro

October 18th, 2022

It’s the Ice Cream Cruise and the 1320 crew are trolling the pits. A Camaro with massive turbos has caught their eye. It’s Bad Chad and his 1968 Chevrolet Camaro. Let’s get a closer look.

Meet Chad Fegley. He owns the Camaro with the crazy purple paint. Under the hood of Chad’s Chevy is a 509 cubic-inch big block engine. Force feeding air into the big mill are a pair of 98-millimeter Precision Pro Mod turbochargers. Chad is busy plotting his strategy for upcoming eighth-mile passes and the mandatory 11-mile cruise that is associated with the event. Chad indicates that he’s only interested in some test and tune passes. Shortly after that, he blows up the place by posting the best qualifying time. Game on!

After completing the cruise, Chad draws a First Round matchup against another Gen I Camaro. He also looks like a serious contender. Unfortunately, the other car broke and Chad had to run solo. Not the way you’d like to win, but he posted a 4.77 @ 152.70 mph, nonetheless. On to Round Two.

This time, Chad is taking on a 1969 Firebird. This Pontiac looks overmatched. He jumps too soon, and Chad ends up with another solo pass.

I’m beginning to wonder if any of these Ice Cream cruisers have anything for Chad’s Camaro. Whaddaya think? Two more rounds to find out.
