Honda S2000 Turbo with 800HP runs 9.9 @ 141 MPH

Carey Bales recently shattered our record book for an Honda S2000 running a 9.99 @ 141.89 MPH his 2004 Honda S2000 Turbo at Indianapolis Raceway Park, IN. Using a single GT37r turbo and an AEM engine management system, this car is pushing over 680 HP to the wheels via a PPG Transmission. Additional driveline strengthening was done by upgrading the rear end as well as using a DSS driveshaft and axles.

We’re not sure of the exact driveline losses, but using a 15% figure we come with 800HP from the 2.2l Inline-4 motor. A set of Volk wheels and Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials got the car off the line with a 1.63 60′ time. From the video it looks like there is a lot more to be gained in the launch and mid 9 second passes shouldn’t be too far away.
