This race is between two very capable, virtually stock sports cars from Germany. It takes place on a closed airstrip during a typically sunny (if a bit smoggy) day in Southern California.

As you may know by now, the 2017 Audi R8 Plus is akin to the feared Lamborghini Huracan. Since both Audi and Lamborghini are owned by the Volkswagen Group, this should come as no surprise. The 2017 R8 Plus features the most powerful engine that the automaker has ever put in an automobile. It is “served” under glass like some sort of delicacy. At 5.2-liters, the V10 engine produces 610hp and is capable of propelling the R8 from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9-seconds.

The Porsche 991 Turbo S has been slightly modified but came from the factory with a horsepower rating of 580hp and can also accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9-seconds. Porsche takes a slightly different approach than Audi; opting to go with less cubic inches in a smaller 3.8-liter V6.

This is a very close race and the car that took the win was a surprise to me. Both cars are all-wheel drive and both trap at over 150 mph. Take a look.
