Nissan GT-R vs. Audi R8 V10 Plus

July 28th, 2017

This is an all-out drag race between two of the premier sports cars in production, right now.

Both cars feature powerful engines and all-wheel drivetrains but only one can emerge victorious in this matchup. So, which one will it be? Will the Japanese win the day or will the Germans make them rue the day? Let’s check it out.

The 2016 Nissan GT-R Black Edition uses a smaller engine than the Audi but adds forced air induction. It is a 3.8-liter twin turbocharged mill that is mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. One of the features that makes this car a beast on the drag strip is a factory trans brake. It also bolts from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9-seconds and has an electronically controlled top speed of 191 mph.

The mid-engine Audi R8 V10 Plus is equipped with Quattro S-tronic all-wheel drive. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine that is capable of producing 610hp. It can also accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9-seconds and has a top speed of 205 mph.

Out of the hole, the Nissan jumps on the Audi like a rat on a chee-toh – but is it powerful enough to hold off the R8 through the trap? Check out the video for the full results.
