8-Second Subaru STI Wins Stick Shift Elite Class – TX2K21

March 26th, 2021

Hey drag racing fans! Get a load of Rolando Resto and the P&L Motorsports Subaru. Rolando and the P&L Crew showed up at TX2K21 with a single goal in mind; to capture the title in the Stick Shift Elite Class. This outfit uses only premium parts installed by skilled techs, and they know how to make Subarus go really fast.

The car is a 2007 Subaru STI. The front-engine all-wheel drive sub-compact sedan rolls off the assembly line with a 293hp (290 lb.-ft. of torque) 2.5-liter H4 engine. The transmission is a 6-speed manual. In stock trim, the Subaru could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 15.0-seconds @ 108 mph. Top speed was 158 mph.

Obviously, P&L has dramatically improved the performance of this STI. The engine and transmission are beefed up to handle the added power and the turbocharger is upgraded, along with the intercooler setup.

With their car running consistent mid-eight second passes at 170+ mph, these guys are chopping in high cotton. A class win at TX2K21 will put them over the top with joy.
