1970 Chevelle SS – 700WHP Restomod

December 14th, 2022

Tonight, Shawn from Autotopia LA welcomes us back to the City of Angels for a look at a stunning 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. Marcus stole the show during the Quarantine Cruise and gave Shawn the chance to test drive his remarkable restomod. Here’s Marcus to give us a full rundown on his Chevelle before the rubber hits the road.

On the business end of this heavy-Chevy is a 6.0-liter LS with a beautifully polished ProCharger. Engine internals include Eagle connecting rods and Wiseco pistons. The engine has been fully balanced and blueprinted. The exhaust system is 3-inch mandrel bent pipe with MagnaFlow mufflers. This build is good for 700whp and 640 lb.-ft. of torque. Shifting duties are left to a 6-speed Tremec manual gearbox with a short throw shifter. Out back is a Moser 12-bolt with 3.73:1 final drive gearing.

Underneath is a stock frame with tubular upper and lower control arms in the front. The four-wheel disc brakes are Corvette/Camaro hybrids. The wheels are 20-inch, 3-piece customs from Asanti. They are 9-inches wide in front and 10-inches wide in the rear.

In keeping with the Corvette theme, the stripes are Gran Sport. The blue hue is surprisingly from the Mazda lineup.

The interior is basically stock with the exception of upgraded analog gauges and Sparco racing seats with safety harnesses.

Load up and let’s ride!
