175MPH Street Dominance – GT500 vs. Z06

May 10th, 2023

We are taking it back to the streets – of Mexico – this evening for a factory grudge match. The format will be a 60 mph arm drop by a passenger. Acceleration will commence. Whoever reaches 200 mph first (or closest) wins.

In the right lane is a beast of a C7 (2014-2019) Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The Z06 package denotes a supercharged 6.2-liter engine that can churn out 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque (stock). Modified with blower pulley upgrades, exhaust headers, an E50 fuel tune and a methanol injection system, this Corvette is substantially faster than stock. It certainly looks menacing enough.

On the left is the flagship of the Ford Mustang lineup. The GT500 is outfitted with a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine capable of producing 760hp and 625 lb.-ft. of torque in factory condition. The stock GT500 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5-seconds and has a top speed of 180 mph. Featured in this video is a Mustang that has been upgraded with a catalytic converter delete kit. It has also been tuned to burn high-octane pump gas.

The time has come to throw down the gauntlet and let the sparks fly upward.
