King of the Streets – Gen II Camaro on NOS

July 24th, 2019

Welcome to Chicago drag racing fans. This is No Prep drag racing from King of the Streets (KOTS) and our feature car is an unbelievable Gen II Camaro Z28 with a 402 cubic-inch engine and a healthy shot of laughing gas. Competing in the Junior Class, this car leaves violently and cruises through the trap with confidence. Looks great doing it, too. In the first round, we see a Nova clone (left lane) get the early jump on our Camaro. Both cars are running nitrous. As is often the case with this volatile chemical, the engine in the Nova clone Read More

Red Demon DSM – No Prep Banger

September 26th, 2017

Allow me to begin by saying that if you can make it to the final round of any drag racing event with a four-cylinder powered vehicle, kudos to you! On the other hand – this is certainly not your average four-cylinder. This is a Boostin Performance built 2.0-liter (4G63) with aluminum connecting rods. It is being choked by an 86-millimeter Precision turbocharger and a methanol injection system. The car is making an incredible 85-pounds of boost and is capable of producing 1,500hp (from a four-cylinder!). The event is Chitown King of the Streets and the Red Demon DSM is competing Read More

Is FWD Faster? 950HP Civic

July 7th, 2017

With a built 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, engine  and a 6785 twin-scroll turbocharger, this Honda Civic is taking on V8 powered Mustangs and Camaros with reckless abandonment. Not only is he taking them on – he’s whipping them in the majority of his races. Helping the underdog import to surprise all those V8 jockeys is a wild looking custom intake manifold from KS Tuned in Kennewick, WA and dual (2 per cylinder) 2000cc ID fuel injectors. Today the little Honda that could is running in the Banger Class at Chi-Town’s King of the Streets. This is a class set up for cars with Read More

Chi-town Heat – 2300HP 1966 Chevelle

June 24th, 2017

Attention all racing fans; be on the lookout for a stunning 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle. The slick blue car is on escape from the show car circuit and was last seen running circles around the competition at King of the Streets Chicago. The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous to other street race cars. Known for its beautiful hue and massive (14-71) blower protruding from the hood, it is packing a 572 cubic-inch big block engine and making about 2,300hp. At just over 3,400-pounds, this beast is often believed to be much heavier than her actual weight. She has been Read More

September 22nd, 2016

You’re a bad one, Mr. Grinch! This time the Grinch isn’t trying to steal Christmas but the Gangster Class crown at the fall 2016 King of the Streets event in Chicago, Illinois. He’s got plans to crush the competition and take home a big stack of cash, but first he’ll have to take on some turbocharged monsters and a few nitrous injected beasts. The Grinch is equipped with a big block Chevrolet engine and a generous shot of laughing gas. The driver (FJ) is ultra aggressive and puts it all on the line for every pass.
