Roush Stage 3 Mustang vs Dodge Challenger Hellcat – Roll and Dig Racing

December 10th, 2021

Roush Racing is among the most respected names in motorsports. In this video, they saddle-up their Stage 3 2021 Mustang for a go at the monster of Mopar – the Challenger Hellcat HEMI.

If you are one of those rare individuals that prefer a manual transmission over an automatic, you may like the Roush Mustang better than the Shelby GT500. Equipped with the 5.0-liter V8, the Roush version is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 10-apeed automatic. The GT500 only offers the auto. Roush adds their Phase 2 supercharger, a cold air intake system, a larger radiator, transmission and differential coolers, and Magneride suspension. When all the bolts are tightened, the 2021 Roush Stage 3 Mustang is capable of churning out 750hp and 670 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s 290hp and 250 lb.-ft. more torque than a stock 2021 Mustang GT.

The Hellcat is far less complicated. It is produced with a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI under the hood. This beast of an engine can generate 707hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is the only option for the Challenger Hellcat.

The Roush Mustang weighs in at 4,182-pounds, while the Challenger tips the scale at 4,448-pounds. Since the Ford weighs less and makes more power, we know which car should win. Nevertheless, the race must be run. Hallelujah!
