2020 Mustang GT500 vs Challenger SRT HEMI – Street Hits

June 24th, 2020

Greetings racing fans; just headed out today to see a third-party registration specialist about getting decals for the Mustang Boss 302. The place is in San Diego so, that means some interesting canyon curves in the Mopar. Two homies and I piled into the Challenger SRT HEMI for the ride and a bit of lunch. Let’s see what happened.

The Challenger felt great on the canyon roads. She’s big and heavy but the tires stick to those s-curves like glue. On the ride home, I noticed that we were getting trolled by a 2020 Mustang GT500. Seemed like he wanted some action so, I caught up and pulled alongside.

The Dodge Challenger SRT has a 392 cubic-inch HEMI that makes 485hp and 479 lb.-ft. of torque. It also weighs in at a whopping 5,000+ pounds. The 2020 Ford Mustang GT500 is equipped with a 760hp supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine. The GT500 weighs only 4,200-pounds and can blast from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5-seconds.

It doesn’t take long to figure out that the GT500 is way outta’ my league in the Challenger. Oh, well. Lunch was good and a day of racing is always better than a day of working.
