New Challenger Hellcat World Record

December 10th, 2019

Greetings drag racing fans and gearheads from every walk of life. Meet the Epling family; Leon, Jason and Logan. This clip also introduces us to the Epling Garage Dodge Chellenger SRT Hellcat. Before the end of this video, this car will be the fastest quarter-mile Hellcat (and the fastest stick shift Hellcat) in the world.

The previous Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat record was also held by the Epling family. It was 7.69-seconds. The new record is 7.66-seconds @ 178 mph. That’s fast!

The body of the big Dodge is stock and all-steel. Only some lightweight glass has been added.

On the business end of this Mopar is a Hellcat Hemi that has been bored and stroked to 7.0-liters. The motor is topped with a set of Thitek cylinder heads and a 4.9-liter Kenne Bell supercharger. The camshaft is by Comp Cams and a Holley EFI fuel system supplies the go-go juice. A Snow Performance water injection system keeps intake air cool and dense and a nitrous oxide kit yields an extra shot of get-up-and-go. The engine is tuned by Tim Barth and runs on Q16 racing fuel. The combination is good for approximately 1500hp. With a little help from Tim Barth, Jason Epling handles fine tuning at the track.

HEMI power is sent to the rear wheels via a Libery 5-speed manual transmission outfitted with a Ram triple-disc clutch. The rear differential is Strange Engineering and Mickey Thompson drag radials plant the ponies to the pavement. Great job Eplings! Keep up the great work.
