2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye – Legit 10-Second Stock Car

November 5th, 2018

Allow us to introduce the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody. It is the latest in the SRT Hellcat lineup. With slightly less horsepower (797HP) than the SRT Hellcat Demon (840HP) and slightly more than the standard SRT Hellcat (707HP), you might be asking yourself where this beast fits in. After watching this video; I think you’ll begin to get the idea.

The Redeye is not the most impressive ride on the circuit track, but on the dragstrip it should be the cat’s meow. Let’s have a look.

Exclusive to the Redeye is the SRT Power Chiller. It allows intercooler coolant to be chilled for increased air density. The air conditioning system is used to drop intercooler coolant temperature. This causes a reduction in air temperature to a level that is 45-degrees cooler than ambient air. That means more oxygen in the combustion chamber and more horsepower. The SRT Power Chiller is advantageous during vehicle operation. The SRT After Run Chiller is operational after the engine is shut down. It cools intercooler coolant between runs, so that you are ready (with optimum power) when your number is called.

This car is loaded with features like this but let’s see how it performed at the strip. Dodge says the 2019 Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye can accelerate from 0 to 60 in 3.4-seconds. This car did it in 3.1-seconds. Quarter-mile elapsed times and trap speeds were more in line with estimated levels but I’ll let you have a gander for yourself.
