Kong Ported Blower Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing – Before and After

November 14th, 2023

This video takes us on a journey (of sorts) as the Late Model Performance (LMP) crew perform a minor modification on a 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing sedan. Specialists from LMP will put the Cadillac on the dyno to get a baseline performance reading before installing a Kong ported supercharger. Afterwards, they will do a second dyno pass and measure the gains. It’s gonna be educational.

The rear-wheel drive 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine rated at 668hp and 679 lb.-ft. of torque. In stock condition, the Blackwing can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 11.6-seconds @ 125 mph. Equipped from nose to tail with premium performance systems, the CT5-V Blackwing tips the scale at 4,092-pounds.

As the LMP crew strap the Caddy to the chassis dyno, every precaution is taken to ensure a safe and successful test. Technicians chime in with their best guesses about the number for the brand-new Cadillac. Once the car is locked-in and the engine is warmed-up sufficiently, the dyno test commences. Surprising everyone in the shop, this Blackwing posted a baseline of 626whp. That’s a relatively high number for a car that only rated at 668hp at the crankshaft.

The Kong ported blower is installed and the Caddy is again strapped on the dyno. Amazingly, the new number is 676whp. That’s a gain of 50whp simply from providing a little more airflow. Wow!
