2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing – Factory Supercharged Four-Door Monster

August 3rd, 2022

Believe it or not, the Cadillac sport sedan line just got an upgrade. Even more powerful than the Cadillac CT5-V luxury sport sedan is the Blackwing version. The Blackwing takes away the cumbersome all-wheel drive platform and replaces it with a fun and nimble rear-wheel drive variant. This bad girl will get sideways at the drop of a hat. The dry-sump motor and supercharger are also improved, but we’ll open that can of worms a little later.

The exterior is basically the same with a few subtle differences in the front air dam and rear splitter. The factory paint is opulent, of course. There are also a handful of carbon fiber accents. The tires are 19-inch Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.

Under the hood is an all-aluminum (block, supercharger and heads) 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine capable of churning out 668hp and 659 lb.-ft. of torque. Premium engine internals include a forged steel crankshaft, a billet steel camshaft, titanium intake valves, forged pistons, powder metal connecting rods and cast nodular main caps. The supercharger is a next generation Eaton 1.7-liter. This Caddy can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 11.4-seconds. Top speed is 209 mph. Transmission options include a standard 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic.

Beware of seemingly docile Cadillacs as you prowl the streets.
