We race the 2020 Huracan EVO vs the 2018 Huracan Performante!

Violent All-Wheel Drive Street Launches

November 5th, 2019

One thing that all these race cars have in common is that they get the heck outta’ Dodge in one quick hurry. Despite being equipped with “all paw crawl”, these radically modified monsters are bucking, flexing, twisting and spinning as they cut loose in an effort to exhibit maximum power output in minimum time and distance. Hold on to your hats for this one. The action begins with a “shoebox” Audi 200 Turbo laying it all on the line in a brutal launch. This car looks to be in the ultimate sleeper category. Next up is an AWD Mitsubishi EVO. Read More

1100HP EVO IX vs. Yamaha R1M – Street Hits

April 5th, 2019

This video attempts to answer the scientific question, “which is faster – the car or the bike?” The experiment will be undertaken south of the border, in a controlled environment. The subjects have been expertly and dramatically modified for performance and speed. Subject A is a 2006 Mitsubishi Evolution (IX). Yes, a sedan. It has been enhanced by Machines Gone Wild using a Mivec 4G63 2.2-liter stroker motor with a GSC crankshaft. On top is a built and ported cylinder head with Kelford 288 camshafts. A dual-injector, AMS intake manifold bridges the gap between a FP (Forced Performance) Super 99 Read More

9-Second EVO – Dragstrip and AWD Dyno

August 26th, 2018

Ran across this crushing orange EVO 8 at the 2018 Diamond Star Motors (DSM) Shootout in Ohio. Kasey was understandably proud of this build and managed to put up low-nine-second passes all day with a best (ever) of 9.29-seconds @ 155 mph. Here’s the rundown on this awesome looking 2003 EVO: At the heart of this beast is a 2.3-liter 4G63 engine built by Buschur Racing with a Manley crankshaft and connecting rods (pistons are by JE). The cylinder head is a BZE (CNC) unit with a set of GSC Power Division S3 camshafts. An Extreme Turbo Systems (ETS) turbo Read More

Street Hits – 700HP Stock Block EVO 8

May 25th, 2018

In these days of awesome aftermarket high-performance components, it’s not that rare to encounter a 700hp street car. In most cases, big ponies equate to a built, balanced, and blueprinted V8 engine with some type of power-adder. That is precisely what makes our feature car so unique. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is no stranger to import performance car enthusiasts. There are some extremely powerful EVO entries on the horizon and many continue to run the 4G (inline 4-cylinder) engine platform (built and sleeved to handle the extra power). What sets our feature car apart is that it is capable of Read More

Street Pulls – 800WHP EVO

November 3rd, 2017

What could be sweeter than an 800whp DSM? How about a warm night of roll racing on the highways of Mexico? The feature car is a 2005 Mitsubishi Evolution (8) that has been radically modified to enhance performance. It is powered by an EVO 9 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that has been built by AG Autosport (with steel connecting rods). The bottom end is rated at 1,000hp. It also uses a Precision 62-millimeter turbocharger. A pair of Walbro 450 pumps keep the E85 fuel flowing. A Haltech ECU (tuned by CriSpeed) keeps all the ponies running in the same direction. The Read More

Evo X World Record Quarter-Mile

April 22nd, 2017

Hello drag racing fans and speed aficionados of every variety. Join me in congratulating Extreme Turbo Systems (ETS) and English Racing as they (once again) shatter the world record 1/4-mile with a pass of 8.48-seconds @ 164.1 mph. The crew had the little sedan running in the 8.5-second range the entire event (TX2K17) and finally hit the right spot for a blow out pass in the latter stages. It seemed like Lucas English was pulling his hair out at the laptop trying to find the perfect tune. Lucas is no stranger to world records and he came through in the clutch. Read More

Meet Maria – The Perfect Car Girl

September 29th, 2016

Are you feeling a little misunderstood? Chances are that you just need to meet Maria (or find a mate like her). If you are a car guy (or girl) – and if you’re reading this you probably are – your most meaningful relationships are likely going to be with other car people. Since it’s a pretty safe bet that car guys are easier to find than car girls, Maria is a rare commodity indeed. Check out the video; you’ll be amazed at Maria’s knowledge of cars and racing (and the car is quite impressive as well). Speaking of which: The Read More

Tin Can Mitsubishi Evo – Stock ECM World Record

September 3rd, 2016

Who knew that there was an event focused exclusively on Diamond Star Motors (DSM) held annually at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio? Seems like someone should have, since the DSM Shootout has been going on for the last 24-years. This event grows bigger and bigger with each passing year. This is due in large part to the popularity of the Mitsubishi Evolution. Despite the Evo coming from the factory with a 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine, this car is easily modified. Many top-shelf aftermarket manufacturers are producing high performance parts for these cars that are practical, comfortable, and have the potential Read More

1291HP Street Sleeper Sedan – Dyno and Test Drive

June 29th, 2016

While this sedan doesn’t exactly look like your typical grocery-getter, you don’t see many 1,200+hp rides with four-doors and a baby seat in the back. Billed (by AG Motosports) as the Mitsubishi Evolution with the most horsepower on this planet, this thing hit 1,291whp and 767-lb.-ft. of torque on the dyno and then hit the streets for some test-abuse. This ‘Mr. Biscuit’ is well heeled with a built 2.0-liter – and I mean built – with GRP aluminum connecting rods and an AG Competition cylinder head with Ferrea valves, Supertech valve springs, and a set of AG racing spec camshafts.
