Pontiac G8 GXP with Nitrous vs. the Streets

February 1st, 2024

Here we have a rather docile looking Pontiac G8 taking on a Camaro SS, a Mustang GT, a C8 Corvette and an Infiniti Q50. Don’t get it twisted – these cars look like grocery getters, but they are all modified for the purpose of racing on the streets (of Mexico). Have a look.

The rear-wheel drive Pontiac G8 GXP is loaded with a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter LS3 V8. The block and heads are aluminum, and the transmission is a 6-speed manual. In stock condition, the G8 could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 13.3-seconds @ 109 mph. Top speed was 146 mph. Featured in this video is a Pontiac that has been modified with a nitrous kit and some bolt-ons.

In the first contest of the evening, the G8 will be taking on a Camaro SS with bolt-ons and a performance tune. The Camaro takes the first two hits handily before the G8 turns on the laughing gas. With nitrous, the Pontiac walks away from the Camaro easily.

Next, the G8 rolls out against a Honda Accord with a four-banger and a turbo. The Honda also has an E40 tune. The first hit is close. With the nitrous turned on in the second hit, the Poncho dusts the Accord like baby brother.

Tons more street hits on this clip. Enjoy.
