Modified Mayhem – MB AMG GT S vs. C7 Corvette Z06 Street Hits

August 16th, 2023

Taking advantage of the wide lanes and long straightaways in Old Mexico, we have a pair of heavy hitters. These cars are modified to increase peak performance and designed to compete in roll racing on the street. Shall we have a closer look?

In the right lane is the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S Coupe. This hand built German luxury machine is powered by a twin turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that can make 515hp and 494 lb.-ft. of torque in factory trim. The stock AMG GT S can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 11.4-seconds @ 124 mph. Featured in this video is a Mercedes-Benz that has been modified with a Pureturbos turbocharger kit. It has also been tuned to burn E40 fuel. Safe to say, this car is a beast.

The C7 (2014-2019) Chevrolet Corvette rolls off the assembly line with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine capable of producing 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. It can eclipse the quarter-mile in 10.6-seconds @ 131 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0-seconds. This car has been generously modified with a ported blower, a performance camshaft, a set of performance cylinder heads, supercharger pulley upgrades (upper and lower) and performance exhaust. It has also been tuned to burn E40 fuel.

As these two cars come up to speed, one can’t help but notice that this is an elite level street race. Enjoy the action.
