Drag Racing on the Street – BMW M3 vs. Porsche 911 Turbo S

January 17th, 2024

As temps dip below freezing, things are heating up on the streets (of Mexico). Tonight, we have a pair of European luxury cars squaring off for a standing drag race. Blinding acceleration will be on full display as these two modified street machines toe the line. Buckle-up.

On the left is the 2023 BMW M3 Competition with X-Drive all-wheel drive. This 4,000-pound sedan is powered by a twin turbocharged 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine that can make 750whp in its current state. This car has been modified with aftermarket intake manifolds, exhaust downpipes, exhaust midpipes and an E40 tune. He’s also running Mickey Thompson Street ET SS racing tires.

The 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S tips the scale at approximately 3,500-pounds. Equipped with a twin turbo 3.8-liter engine, the all-wheel drive Porsche is capable of producing 720whp with the current mods. Upgrades include exhaust downpipes, aftermarket intercooler and a 93-octane tune. The PDK transmission is also custom tuned. The tires are Pirelli P-Zeros (from the factory).

Tension is in the air as these two stallions line up for battle. An arm drop start initiates the action as both cars lurch forward under full acceleration. The smell of racing fuel and burnt rubber is almost overwhelming as the BMW begins to pull away from the Porsche in the first of multiple races.

Enjoy the action.
