Chevy Performance – 1000HP IROC Camaro Build

October 23rd, 2021

The crew at Tire Slayer Studios is set to engage in a dream build. In conjunction with Chevy Performance, these guys have just three-weeks to put together a 1,000hp Gen III Camaro build. So, what are your thoughts? Twin turbochargers? A ProCharger? Supercharger? How about nitrous? Nope! These gearheads are going naturally aspirated.

What’s that you say? How can that be? That’s where Chevy Performance comes in. They provided Tire Slayer with their first 1,000hp crate motor. This is a 632 cubic-inch big block (iron) featuring four-bolt main caps and a forged rotating assembly (crank, rods and pistons) with a compression ratio of 12.0:1. The Sperry high-flow cylinder heads are CNC machined from aluminum. It comes complete with electronic port fuel injection, intake and throttle body. During testing, Chevrolet Performance put a single engine through more than 200 simulated drag racing passes on the dyno. The engine is still running. Imagine 1,000 naturally aspirated horsepower and 876 lb.-ft. of torque. Now, imagine it with a pair of turbochargers or a supercharger. Oh, yeah!

Chevy Performance also gave these guys a rolling chassis. Check out the build and daydream about the possibilities. The ZZ632 will be available to the public in early 2022.
