0-60 MPH in 2.65 with the Refreshed Tesla Model S P90D Ludicrous

August 18th, 2016

We test the refreshed Tesla Model S P90D with Ludicrous mode running 0-60 MPH in just 2.65 seconds.  With a refreshed look that includes a new front bumper, rear diffuser along with full LED headlights, the refreshed Model S with Ludicrous might be packing some extra power as well. Even with the regular 19″ wheels and skinny 245/45/19 all season tires, the Tesla has no problem ripping consecutive 2.6x 0-60 MPH times using it’s monstrous amounts of fine tuned torque delivery to all 4 wheels.   What current production car can keep up with the Tesla to 60MPH for under $1 million? The P85D pulled an astounding 1.29 G off the line absolutely leaving the P85 in the dust while it fought for traction.   The trouncing continued while the P85D kept pulling away putting car length after car length between the two until the P85 almost disappeared from view. McLaren MP4-12C Fabspeed Motorsports Tune Testing

October 19th, 2014

Tuning and performance options have been quite limited for the McLaren MP4-12C as it’s a fairly new car and it takes time to get things moving in the tuning world.  We had some time testing the Fabspeed Motorsports Engine Turning Power Kit on the McLaren MP4-12C we’ve been working with over the past year.   The Fabspeed engine tuning kit for the MP4-12C has a list price of $5,295 and states  a 77 horsepower and 110 ft-lbs torque increase at the engine which would bring the McLaren from 616 HP to almost 700 horsepower. Since the MP4-12C we’ve been testing already Read More

2014 Tesla Model S 85 kWh 0-60 MPH Testing

July 5th, 2014

We had some time with a 2014 Tesla Model S 85, the non-performance version and did a quick 0-60 MPH test run with the Vbox.  Tesla rates the Model S 85 at 362HP and a 0-60 MPH time of 5.4 seconds.   With the battery at less than 50% the Model S ran 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and 0-100 in 12.4 seconds. While this is well ahead of Tesla’s quoted numbers, we think it will do even better with a full charge.   We tested the base 60 kWh model a while back with a full charge was able to run 0-60 Read More
