Lamborghini Huracan Driving Event and 60-130 MPH Testing

September 4th, 2014

Lamborghini-Huracan-60-130We had some time driving  the all new Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 at Palm Beach International Raceway’s 2 mile road course consisting of 11 turns and a 6/10 mile straightaway which was shortened a bit for this test event .  The Huracan is powered by a 5.2L V10 making 610 horsepower through a 7 speed dual clutch transmission and is set to arrive in the US in the next few months.  Our test car was Europe spec Huracan painted in Giallo Midas and was equipped with Lamborghini’s Magneto suspension, dynamic steering and bicolor alcantera racing seats.

We the drove the Huracan in it’s most aggressive Corsa driving mode with ESP on and even though the track was setup with a reduced back straightaway we were still able to easily hit over 140 MPH.  The VBOX recorded 60-130 MPH times of 8.32 and 8.20.  While the weather wasn’t great at 1,675 DA we did expect some better 60-130 MPH times given the Huracan’s increase in horsepower and ultra fast dual clutch transmission benefits over the outgoing Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale which we tested at 8.4 from 60-130 MPH in similar weather and 7.69 in optimal weather.  It’s also behind the McLaren MP4-12C that tests consistently in the high 6’s.

We look forward to some additional time with a US production car that just arrived in Miami and hope to have some launch control testing, more time tweaking the 60-130 MPH tests and real world 1/4 mile times soon.  Take a look at the pictures, graphs and videos below.
