The first batch of all new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 cars equipped with the 8 speed automatic transmission are starting to hit the drag strips with the first one running an impressive 10.7-10.8 @ 129-131 MPH.  This Z06 was running a set of Mickey Thompson Drag Radials helping it get off the line very well with 1.6x short times.

The weather was optimal at Orlando Speed World for these runs with a DA of -1200.  For comparison, the best time we’ve seen so far for the manual transmission Z06 was 10.9 @ 127 MPH done few weeks ago on the stock Michelin Pilot Cup Sport tires at Palm Beach International Raceway.
