1972 Chevrolet C10 Pro Touring Build

November 23rd, 2022

Thanks to Shawn (Autotopia LA) for another stunning build from the left coast. This time we have a Chevy C10 smoke machine built to tackle the curves or run all out in a straight line. Whatever kind of racing you have in mind; this truck is up to the task. Check it out.

It all starts under the hood. A naturally aspirated 6.2-liter LS3 V8 is pushed back in the engine bay nearly 10-inches. This helps with weight distribution and handling. Nothing radical with the engine, just a performance camshaft, some light porting and exhaust headers (2-inch stainless exhaust front to rear). Nevertheless, the results are impressive. This C10 can crank out 570hp to the rear tires. The transmission is a Tremec 6-speed manual with a McLeod clutch. In the rear, we have 3.73:1 gears.

The exterior is unassuming in matte gray. Body panels are factory steel except for the hood which is fiberglass.

Underneath, the frame is stock with Corvette suspension and brakes. There are adjustable coilovers on all four-corners. The tire/wheel setup is 18 x 12 all the way around.

Inside, the cockpit is all business. This is a race truck with Corbeau seats and full safety harnesses.

Can’t wait to get this pickup in the street.
