1000HP Trans Am – Street Rolls

February 1st, 2018

Here’s your chance to hop onboard some of the baddest street (roll) race cars in Mexico. These rides are radically modified and purpose-built for racing with a rolling start.

Sheet metal? We don’t need no stinking sheet metal! Our first camera car is a turbocharged Pontiac Trans Am with a fender missing (not an inner fender either). This Poncho is running a small block Chevrolet (4.8-liter) engine with an 88-millimeter turbocharger (40 psi tonight) and a kit of nitrous. The transmission is a 4L60E.

In the first race, the Trans Am rolls up on a nitrous burning Corvette (supercharged 6.2-liter) Z06. Without the nitrous, the Trans Am jumps out quickly and the ‘Vette eases back up for the win. Once the Corvette hits the button (nitrous), it is no contest.

Next, a Cadillac CTS-V with the cylinder heads and camshaft upgraded decides to have some fun. After the initial hit, the Caddy seems to suffer some sort of transmission malady and is forced to retire for the evening.

There is a ton of racing action on this clip. Numerous Corvettes, Cadillacs, and Mustangs abound. Check it out.
